The boys enjoyed a “spa” day this morning.
Many people don’t know this, but just like humans clip their finger nails, horses need their hooves trimmed. Especially in a climate like Minnesota’s, when soft snow cushions feet instead of the hard ground that helps wear their hooves down.
I’ve wanted to photograph our farrier, Dave, for a while now but have never had the guts to ask him. The light was so pretty this morning that I just had to ask. And I’m SO GLAD I did! Look at his hands! They are marvelous! A mix of softness and wear, gentle yet firm.
